Approach

A real plan, not guesswork.

One-on-one coaching, built around you. The goal is simple: help you get stronger and perform better in your sport, whether that's golf, tennis, running or swimming.

Every client starts with a full assessment. I look at how you move, your current strength, your training history, and anything in daily life that affects your body, like a desk job or an old shoulder injury.

From there, your training is planned in four-week blocks, not just single sessions. Each block has a clear goal, a way to check if it's working, and a set point where we review and adjust.

Based at Virgin Active Collection, Silo District, in the V&A Waterfront, with harbour views and equipment built for serious strength work and recovery.

About Luc

Coaching from experience, not just theory.

I grew up in Cape Town and went to Wynberg Boys' High School, where I played rugby and cricket competitively, before finding my real talent on the start line in cross country and athletics, winning a string of races over the years. Golf was a family activity, playing with my dad every weekend, and I later moved into bodybuilding, competing and winning there too.

I spent nine years as an independent personal trainer at Virgin Active, Wembley Square, before becoming a Sport, Fitness and Wellness Coach at Virgin Active Collection, Silo District, in January 2025. I learned early that a strong support system can take an athlete's individual performance in sport to a new level, and that's why I coach the way I do, still participating in every sport I specialise in: golf, tennis, running, and swimming.

Three ways to work together

A

1:1 strength coaching

In-person sessions at the Silo District, coached in real time with load, tempo, and technique adjusted set by set. Built for people training for speed, agility, strength, muscle, or a specific performance goal.

B

Online programming

A written training block tailored to your equipment, schedule, and recovery capacity. Progressions are planned in advance and adjusted at each review point, not made up on the day.

C

Performance assessment

A standalone session to establish baselines, such as strength testing, movement screening, and a written report on where you stand and what to prioritise next.

Process

How a program gets built

01

Assess

Movement screen, strength baseline, training history, and a conversation about what you actually want out of this.

02

Blueprint

A written program for the next training block, with clear targets and a defined review date.

03

Build

Coached sessions where the plan gets executed and refined, with load and technique adjusted as you go.

04

Calibrate

A review against the original targets. Keep what's working, change what isn't, plan the next block.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you only train athletes, or beginners too?

Both. Every program starts with the same full assessment regardless of experience level. The difference is where the starting point is set, not whether you qualify to train.

What if I've never done strength training before?

That's fine. The first session is an assessment, not a workout, so the program is built around your actual current ability rather than assumptions.

Can I train if I have an injury or old niggle?

In most cases, yes. The movement screen flags this upfront and the program is built around it. For anything requiring medical clearance, you'll be asked to check with a doctor or physio first.

Do I need my own equipment?

No. Sessions are run at Virgin Active Collection, Silo District, which has everything needed for serious strength work.

How soon will I see results?

Most clients notice a difference in strength and movement quality within the first 4 week cycle, which is also when the first formal review happens.

What's your cancellation policy?

Get in touch directly to confirm current terms. This is covered in the client agreement provided before your first session.
